One of the standout features of Honke Motoya is its diverse menu, featuring signature dishes that will satisfy even the most discerning palate. A must-try is the 肉うどん (niku udon), a flavorful udon noodle dish served with tender, juicy beef in a savory broth. It's the kind of comfort food that hits the spot every time, especially on a cool day.

For those looking to try a little bit of everything, the もとや三昧 (Motoya Zanmai) is a perfect choice. This dish gives you the best of what the restaurant has to offer, with a mix of delicious udon, tempura, and other traditional Japanese ingredients. If you're a fan of crispy tempura, don't miss the 天婦羅御膳 (tempura gozen), a tempura set that includes a variety of expertly fried vegetables and seafood served with a bowl of udon noodles.

If you're craving a lighter option, Honke Motoya also serves the 親子丼ミニ&ミニうどん 温 (oyakodon mini & mini udon), a delightful combination of tender chicken and egg served over rice alongside a small serving of udon. It's a comforting dish that’s perfect for those who want to enjoy a variety of flavors in one meal.

Another great option is the 天婦羅うどん (tempura udon), which features crispy tempura served alongside the restaurant's signature udon noodles. The tempura's crunch complements the smoothness of the noodles, creating the ideal balance of textures and flavors.

What customers say?

“ I stopped in while passing by. I arrived shortly after the 11am lunch opening. There were a lot of older customers. The wait staff were all very friendly. It was a good experience from start to finish. The amount of soba noodles was a little insufficient for a growing child. ”

“ I was able to get in without waiting in line at 12:30 on a Friday. Kishu soba (plum soba), chilled soba noodles with grated yam, raw egg and squid tempura topping, and a small oyakodon (chicken and egg bowl) came to 2,500 yen. It was a delicious and reasonably priced lunch. ”

“ It was delicious handmade udon. The tempura udon was nice because the tempura was served on a separate plate. I enjoyed the crispy tempura. The broth for the meat udon was separate from the tempura udon broth and both were delicious. The bowl was large and it looked like there wasn't much inside, but the portion was normal. ”

“ I think this was my second time at this restaurant! I don't remember much about the last time, but this time my work in the morning got delayed, so we went for lunch around 2:30pm! It was also my friend's birthday, so we went in for lunch! Actually, there aren't many places open at this time of day! Unlike some udon restaurants, this udon felt a little more luxurious! It was delicious! Of course, I love fried oysters, so it was great! ”

“ There were picture books in the tatami room, making it family-friendly. There was also a bicycle rack. There were many udon dishes and a kids' menu. The taste was also good, so it was a great experience. If I had to say something, maybe the portion size of the bowl didn't fit the bowl? Lol ”

“ Yes It was my first time there (^.^) It was a set lunch I went with my family so we had a private room. I'm glad I have small children They also had picture books. Kids never get bored We all enjoyed our meals I think it's a great restaurant ”

“ I visited for the first time for lunch on January 14, 2024. There were two other groups waiting, but they said if we didn't mind sitting at the counter, we were seated without waiting. I ordered a katsudon and a small soba noodle dish, and my partner ordered tempura zaru soba noodles (with one shrimp, pumpkin, lotus root, etc.) and a mini egg bowl. I prefer soba noodles to udon noodles, so... It seemed crowded, but the food was served quickly. The katsu was piping hot, freshly fried, and the broth was light and delicious. I think it was good value for money. The service was also pleasant. Free Wi-Fi is available. ”
